Vernazza day 2... the big hike!!!

day 2 was a lot of fun. we woke up early and had breakfast at Massimo's restaurant! then rode to Riggomore and started our 4 mile mountain hike! the first link was great. easy. it was called the walk of love. villa della amore.
then came the the next link, which was a little harder, ending with a steep uphill stair climb! and the final stretch to Vernazza was killer, but we made it. the views were great! so worth it. that night we rode to the villages by boat, so we could get views from out in the water. it was a lot of fun.

Vernazza

oh my goodness, we loved Cinque Terra. our village, Vernazza, was PERFECT. we had a really nice room, Vernazza rooms #2 and it was so cute, updated with a balcony terrace. we couldn't get enough of the quaintness!!! love it so much. and i loved all the cats walking around everywhere. it just made my day everytime i could pet one. it made me not miss my cat as much! we highly recommend this as a travel destination!!!

quaint little pathways. up to our room was 179 steps! whoo...

another one, the just purr like pigeons when you pet them! they love it!

the Vernazza Harbor

the ferry, that connects the villages, picking people up. rough waters that day made it interesting to get on and off.

the funniest family. Amy, boyfriend Andrew, Rick and Denna. they were from Georgia and the dad reminded me so much of Dan Irons, he was great and SO funny!!!

we're back...MILAN

it's been a while, we were in Milan and then BEAUTIFUL Vernazza, Cinque Terra, and there was no internet there (which was kinda nice actually) so we were not able to update blogs...anyways, now we are in Rome, and i wanted to get caught up...
here is Milan. we were only there less than 24 hours. we had to connect there from plane to train. enjoy! The Duomo was SO massive and impressive. glad we were able to see it. First Gothic Cathedral built in 300 AD!

matty's already wearing his greek house slippers... he loves them!
